Friday starts out with Maxwell Street Days and stores throughout the city have end of the summer sidewalk sales. This is a very popular part of the festival and bargain hunters hit the streets when the sales begin at 7am. The stores run the sidewalk sales until 5pm. Another very popular part of the festival is the huge Antique Flea Market which also starts at 7am on Friday. You can spend an entire day cruising the flea market and find some great prices on antiques and collectible items. The Antique Flea Market runs until 7pm. The Wo Zha Wa Arts & Crafts Fair will run all three days of the festival. It’s located in Bowman Park on Broadway and on Friday it will run from noon till 5pm. With over 200 artisans it is the longest running art fair in the Wisconsin Dells. As you’re cruising the sales on Friday, you’ll begin to smell the great aroma’s coming from the dozens of food booths that are opening up. By noon, most of the beer tents are ready for the thirsty crowd. By Friday night, the festival is in full swing and the food and beer are flowing. There are also carnival rides for the kids. A popular first stop on Friday night for locals and visitors is the Kilbourn Fire Department Beer Tent. You can belly up to the bar and On Saturday, the Maxwell Street Sidewalk Sales and the Antique Flea Market begin again at 7am. The sidewalk sales run until 5pm and the Flea Market is open until 7pm. The Annual Wo-Zha-Wa Run begins at 8am. The art fair starts at 9am and runs until 5pm on Saturday. There’s plenty of live music in the Dells at the clubs throughout Wo-Zha-Wa. The festival is really rolling by Saturday. On Sunday, the Antique Flea Market begins at 7am and runs until 5pm. The Arts & Craft Fair starts at 9am in Bowman Park and runs until 3pm. The main event on Sunday is the Wo-Zha-Wa Parade on Broadway in the Downtown Dells. The parade begins around 1:30pm. The parade is a very popular event with about 100 units, including several great drum & bugle corps. If you want a front row spot, get there early. The food booths and beer tents are open until late afternoon on Sunday and a number of the raffles have their drawings after the parade. You’ll find plenty of year - end bargains in front of all the retail stores during Wo Zha Wa. The Arts & Crafts Fair is located in Bowman Park which is on Broadway Street in the Downtown Dells. It’s a large art fair with about 225 exhibitors and fills the entire park. Many of the concession stands that you’ll find throughout the downtown area are run by local service organizations. The food and drinks they sell, along with the raffles they hold are the largest fund raisers of the year for many of these organizations. Get here early for a good seat for the parade on Sunday. This is a very popular event and the streets are filled with spectators. |
